Looks like Lightroom 2 is out! joy! Yet another photo software package to purchase.
Today I use primarily Lightroom 1.4 and Photoshop CS3 both on the Mac for my landscape and portrait work. For snapshots and everyday pictures, iPhoto is still the absolute best solution out there!
I haven't started reading all the ins and outs to determine if LR2 is worth the $99 upgrade so we will have to see. Lightroom 1.4 has a really nice interface but is painfully slow - not really good for photomanagement. I really wish I could have iPhoto, Lightroom and CS3 all merged into one program. Oh well, dream on. At least I don't have to shell out $299 for this. If you are making the initial outlay of $$$, look at joining NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) as you can usually get great discounts over there and they have awesome lecture/seminars for cheap. There is a link to it on my main website (and other sites that are interesting.
I'll put together another post after I start playing with it.
Enjoy
